Introducing Metabolic Buster, our group fitness class for people with Type 2 Diabetes, Pre-Diabetics or people concerned about insulin sensitivity! Living a fit and active lifestyle is important for us all, but it’s particularly important for anyone struggling with blood glucose control. 

Getting into exercise can be intimidating and it can be difficult to know what exercises you should be doing, but that’s where an Exercise Physiologist can help! Our group fitness classes are all run by Accredited Exercise Physiologists who specialise in exercise for people with chronic or complex conditions – including diabetes! We’re here to encourage, educate and help you live a healthier lifestyle and even enjoy exercise.  

Some of the many benefits of regular exercise for Type 2 Diabetics include;

  • Improved mood 
  • Better sleep 
  • Lower blood pressure 
  • Stronger muscles and bones 
  • Reduced risk of co-morbidities such as hypertension and stroke 

Exercises will vary based on your needs but may include a variety of stretching, functional strength, resistance and balance exercises. It’s also a great opportunity to socialise and get to know the other members of your class. You’ll also be provided with a home exercise program so you can take part in exercise at home between classes! 

All new clients will receive a FREE Assessment with our Exercise Physiologist so we can make a unique program tailored to you! If you have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, you may also be eligible for up to 8 bulk-billed classes per year. If you’re a pre-diabetic or would just like to get involved, classes can be claimed as an Exercise Physiology Group Service with many private health funds. Give us a call to find out more or to make a booking (08) 6269 2020.
